Ultrasonic point level measurement technology


The Time Gate time selector method is to excite a transmitting crystal on one side of the measurement gap and register a signal with the receiving crystal on the opposite side. Since the high-frequency ultrasonic signal propagates in liquid media better than in gaseous media, the presence of liquid is determined by the propagation of ultrasound in the measuring gap. Signals from the receiving crystal are analyzed at specific time intervals or windows, which are set by the Time Gate selector. This method increases the sensitivity of the system compared to previous systems. The patented Time Gate selector technology used in Sensall® Sapphire ™ sensors gives the user the following benefits:

  • Reliable measurements for various process fluids, including aerated fluids, viscous, corrosive and corrosive media.
  • Self-diagnosis is carried out continuously and automatically.
The minimum number of consecutive positive results, the liquid is in the gap is 25 times in 0.5 seconds, and the maximum is 600 times in 12 seconds. This unique feature allows you to eliminate the false triggering of the sensor from bursts when boiling or stirring a liquid.
